Kunstfloor plays with words as much as with the image. Kunst meaning art in German questions the form of the drawing itself. The vertical building like silhouette may suggest that the drawing is a façade (like Shroff’s Party Walls), when actually, it is yet another transitional space of the Museum floor that Shroff repeatedly visited. As we see the influence of these visits in the works in the show, we see that this drawing employs formal drawing materials of silverpoint and graphite to emulate modern conventions of a unified pictorial space, whilst the subject suggests a transience.
