Party Walls, are one of the earliest forms of time documentation for the artist. They resonate the markings of elements that were once present and are now no longer there…The residual mapping of marks in the ‘Partywall Bombay Series’ (2019) straddle between the visual and conceptual nature of time as a medium. While the works etch out each detail on the outer façade of buildings, they also move into a circular narrative connecting with other Partywalls, which trace the razed details of past structure that carry the space of time. The characters of chance and opportunity in time are significantly highlighted. These minute elements are reliant entirely on Shroff’s gathered photographic documentation. The copious visual documentations are layered with readings of space, time and architecture.

From the essay 'Folly Measures', written by Veeranganakumari Solanki, 2020.
