Letter Writing Workshop: Page To Place | Letters to the Future

29 June 2019
11am - 1pm

In this workshop, participants will not only explore the exhibition in the gallery through a guided tour but also reflect on the works by the artists and the connections they make with the cycle of life and death, and the notion of belonging. They will examine how these concepts are deeply linked to cultures and the history of places as they are taken through myth, folklore and a host of creative writing exercises.

Using this as a springboard, participants will write “mixed media” letters to the future that trace connections to a place – either real or imagined – as they play around with both image and word.

This workshop will introduce participants to connections between art and the contemporary world as they connect with themes in an exhibition. Participants will also experiment with voice as they tell the story of a place.
