Join us at TARQ for an exciting presentation by The Tandel Fund of Archives!

The Tandel Fund of Archives is a socially engaged archive and ethnographic pop-up museum of the Koli community - the indigenous fishing tribe who are the original inhabitants of Mumbai. Join us at TARQ with Parag Tandel and Kadambari Koli as they share their research and how they aim to preserve the indigenous knowledge of the seven islands of Mumbai.

Co-founded by Parag Tandel and Kadambari Koli, this pool of archives is currently documenting sustainable knowledge regarding the ocean and the biophilic practices of Koli tribe in and around Mumbai. The Archive seeks to forge connections with the public sphere through pop-up exhibits of archival material of each Koliwada (fishing village). It aims to serve as an archival tool through which information and narratives of the community can be disseminated through various art forms, and act as a living museum of memory. The TFA is closely collaborating with more than two hundred villages to archive this data.
