Held alongside खारी गाबोली | Salted Caviar, Parag Tandel's solo exhibition of sculpture, cyanotype, textile, and archival research, this public programme extends the show's meditation on the sea as a living archive. Across a morning of Koli storytelling, a presentation by the Tandel Fund of Archives, and a hands-on bookbinding workshop, this series of events brings Koli cosmologies, coastal histories, and material memory into direct encounter with the public — inviting visitors to engage with Tandel's practice not only as artwork, but as an act of maritime reclamation and collective knowledge-keeping.

This storytelling walkthrough brings together Parag Tandel and Kadambari to share stories, memories, and ways of knowing rooted in Koli cosmologies and epistemologies. Moving through the exhibition, the artists reflect on the sea as a living archive holding histories of food, tides, labour, ecology, rituals, and ancestral knowledge. Through personal stories and oral traditions, the walkthrough invites us to encounter the works not only as sculptures, but as fragments of a larger Koli worldview shaped by intimate relationships with the ocean and the coastal landscape.
Shore as Archive: Reclaiming Koli memory, knowledge and history from the megalopolis

The Tandel Fund of Archives is a socially engaged archives and Ethnographic Pop-Up Museum of the Koli (Indigenous fishing tribe who are original inhabitants of Mumbai) community.
A pool of archives is currently documenting sustainable knowledge regarding the ocean, and biophilic practices of Koli tribe in and around Mumbai. It seeks to forge connections with the public sphere through pop-up exhibits of archival material of each Koliwada (fishing village). TFA is closely collaborating with more than two hundred villages to archive data.
It aims to serve as an archival tool through which information and narratives of the community can be disseminated through various art forms, and act as a living museum of memory.
Build Your Own Archive!: A Japanese Bookbinding Workshop

Books are intimate living archives. They carry stories, fragments, pressed botanicals, maps, letters, and memories. This Japanese Bookbinding workshop explores archives, ritual, and material memory through the language of handmade books. Through bookbinding and/or talisman making, participants will create a personal archive and journal in dialogue with Parag's explorations of coastal ecology and histories.
