Katie Bagli loves to go for walks out in the wild, where she takes on the role of a nature detective, looking under leaves and stones for all kinds of creepy crawlies, and up at the tree canopies for birds and squirrels. She finds mountains and oceans most fascinating and feels something mysterious about them.
There is always a story developing in Katie’s mind, especially when she walks her dog Chloe. These stories ultimately find their way into her published books – 60 so far.
Katie has won several awards for her writing and for her work on conservation of the environment.
In addition, she was recently given the spotlight at the prestigious Sanctuary Awards in Mumbai for writing stories that weave magical nature spells on children so that they may grow into the next-generation conservationists.
She was also honoured by Wildlife Tourism and Conclave Awards with the Legend Award in the field of Wildlife conservation through her writing and nature-related activities. Katie also conducts workshops on creative writing, wildlife poetry and nature-centric learning.
Katie is also a member of the Save Rani Bagh Foundation, which ensures the upkeep, and health of the green heritage in the botanical gardens there that has more than 4000 trees and form the green lungs of Mumbai.
To make a difference for the better to our planet, has always been her vision. She is now fulfilling this vision by being part of the Jane Goodall Institute India team, as Education Director and approaching schools to inspire the youth into taking ownership of our planet and doing their bit to make a difference.
