As an extension of the painting RE-DEVELOPMENT, Sameer Kulavoor began exploring multiple compositional viewpoints within a single scene, revealing alternate narratives and hidden layers of urban life. JCB captures the magnetic spectacle of the yellow machine across Mumbai, a symbol of transformation and disruption. Juxtaposing the green demolition fabric with a chroma screen representing the ever changing replaceable background, the work highlights the city's ever-shifting realities, where construction signals both progress and precarity, especially for the homeless.
