Looking for You, Far Away, Above and Beyond is a series of 11 self-made paper works representing an act of prayer and remembrance. Made in a single day after many days of preparation, together, they form a set of letters written to the artist's late mother. The works are made from her mother's clothes: the pinks from a kurta, the blue at the bottom from a shirt, and the white writing from pulp made from another shirt, all screen-printed and painted directly onto the paper. In transforming everyday clothes into forms no longer recognizable, the artist searches for the person who wore them. Alongside her clothes, the artist used kozo (mulberry) fibre for its strength and resilience, qualities that mirror her mother's unwavering presence, strength, and grace.
